Big Band like Glen Miller, Benny Goodman; Smooth Jazz like David Benoit, Rippingtons, Joe Sample; Hair Bands like Aerosmith, Blackfoot, Lynyrd Skynyrd, move forward to Puddle of Mudd, Three Doors Down; Classical -- no one like Tchaikovsky, although Mozart comes close
Favorite Books, Writers, Genres:

Star Trek Series by Shatner: brings all Star Treks into one story after another. Love Harry Potter series, Isaac Asimov, Dan Brown, Shakespeare (really!), Amy Tan, Shogun, anything about worlds and times not our own. My hero is Carl Sagan.
Favorite Movies, Actors, Genres:

Chocolat, Under the Tuscan Sun, Passion of Mind, anything with a bit of escapism...The Abyss, Star Treks, anything by Jane Austin, historical recountings without blood and gore such as Shakespeare in Love, A Man for All Seasons, Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth. Fun things like Galaxy Quest, Robin Hood Men in Tights, Young Frankenstein. Anything with Fred Astaire.
Favorite TV Shows, Actors:

Alan Rickman, Demi Moore, Patrick Stewart, Matt Dillon, Bruce Willis, Ed Harris. Can't live without 24 and Kiefer Sutherland and Hugh Laurie and House. My favorite show is Wishbone; brings the classics into children's lives via an adorable dog
